Abstract

Halal Gastronomy tourism is one of the fastest-growing branches of tourism globally. Borneo, with its cultural diversity and unique traditional cuisine, has the potential to become a major destination for halal culinary tourism. However, the application of digital technology in promoting this tourism is still in its early stages. This study examines the use of digital technologies such as social media, mobile applications and virtual reality in marketing halal culinary tourism. The study also discusses the challenges faced by tour operators and Muslim tourists and suggests effective digital marketing strategies. Data was collected through interviews with industry players and tourists. The results of the study show the great potential of digital technology in strengthening the promotion of halal culinary tourism, with an emphasis on a cultural and religious sensitive approach.
