P032 Exploring The History Of Ancient Manuscripts: This is The Legendary Hikayat Nur Muhammad

The purpose of this research is to trace history through the ancient manuscript entitled “Hikayat Nur Muhammad dan Nabi Bercukur dan Nabi Wafat Adanya.” The scope of the discussion includes the Saga of Nur Muhammad, the Saga of the Prophet’s Miracles, the Saga of the prophet’s Shaving, and the Saga of the Prophet’s Passing. The research method uses a philological approach, which begins with manuscript selection, followed by transliteration, translation, and interpretation of the manuscript’s content through the historical method. The research results indicate that the Hikayat Nur Muhammad covers: the beginning of creation, the emission of light in the bird analogy, and the granting of the seven layers of light to the Nur Muhammad. The tale of the propeth’s miracle through a dialogue between the prophet and King Habib bin Malik, who asked the prophet to demonstrate  his miracle by calling the moon to came to him. The sage of the prophet shaving in the presense of Nur Muhammad, being shaved by the Archangel Gabriel, and wearing a cap made from the leaves of the Tunbu tree originating from heaven. The tale of the prophrt’s passing includes the prophet’s dialogue with the angels Gabriel, Malik, and Michael. The prohibition of crying over, and the messenger’s speech about debt. From the four tales, it can be concluded that the circles surrounding the Prophet Muhammad comprise the public circle, the student circle, and the secret circle.
