Abstract

Social media has been parallel with the development of information technology where it is able to facilitate the community in networking and exchanging of information.Nonetheless,at the same time, if social media is not used ethically, it can threaten the harmonious structure of the social life. Thus,this study aims to analyse the acceptance of generation Y in using social media for Da’wah activities and to  identify the role of social media among generation Y for Da’wah in the dissemination of religious information. Other than that, the study also aims to assess to what extent the use of social media affects Generation Y in the context of acceptance of religious information. This study was analysed using quantitative method and an adapted questionnaire was used as the primary source for data collection. The 76 respondents involved  were selected from various fields of school and religions at one public university. From the study, there is a significant acceptance of Da’wah using social media by the Generation Y.
