This study examines the development of scientific research on environment-based tourism management through a bibliometric analysis of publications from 2000 to 2025. The analysis covers 187 publications indexed in SINTA and Scopus, consisting of 17 SINTA-indexed and 170 Scopus-indexed publications. The findings indicate that research output fluctuated throughout the observation period, with relatively high publication counts recorded in 2013 and 2022, followed by lower publication activity in 2023 and 2024. Keyword network analysis identified 26 items grouped into six thematic clusters connected by 167 links. The clusters represent interconnected themes related to environmental management, sustainable tourism, tourism destinations, ecotourism, community involvement, environmental awareness, and tourism impacts. Overlay visualization indicates a thematic development from earlier attention to tourism impacts, environmental quality, and environmental awareness toward more recent emphasis on environmental sustainability, ecotourism, and destination-related issues. Density visualization shows that “environment” and “tourism management” are among the most prominent themes in the analyzed network, whereas terms such as “tourism impact,” “physical environment,” and “environmental quality” are comparatively less prominent. These findings provide a longitudinal overview of the intellectual and thematic development of environment-based tourism management research and identify areas that may warrant further investigation.
