Abstract

Traditional way of education which implements one-way communication is seen to cause students to get bored easily. Besides, this way of education also causes the level of students’ understanding to be at a low level, especially among weak students. Therefore, a mediator is needed to help overcome this problem. Hence, the use of technology and multimedia is believed to be able to act as an educational aid which will make teaching and learning sessions to become more effective, especially for subjects related to Islamic Education. Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the digitalization of teaching and learning session has become an obligation to all sections. Although there is opposition from some parties, using media as an educational aid is believed to have the potential to be maintained even after the pandemic has ended, provided that it is modified according to today’s needs. One of the efforts taken by the Sarawak government for its region in order to support this matter includes equipping all corners of the region with internet facilities. This study aims to collect results of studies conducted which are related to the readiness and implications of the implementation of digitality to Islamic Education in the state of Sarawak. As a result, it was found that the state of Sarawak is suitable for teaching and learning Islamic Education digitally. This can be a success if all parties play their respective roles so that the main target of this effort can be achieved.
