Abstract

Online Trading is a trading transaction that is carried out online without getting physical goods. For example, online gold trading transactions through certain brokers who do not provide any form of physical gold. Such transactions are carried out only to benefit from price changes solely. Such activities have become a trend among the community because they can provide huge profits in the short term. However, please note that there are certain laws in Islam regarding such transactions. Therefore, before engaging with this online trading activity Muslims need to take know the laws associated with it. This study aims to study as well as produce guidelines for online trading activities according to an Islamic perspective. This study is a qualitative study that uses a content analysis design where the data collection process is carried out through reading material and then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study found that Islam requires Online Trading with three main conditions, namely that there are no elements of riba, gharar and gambling and at the same time the goods traded are not usury. This study can be a basic guide for Muslims who intend to engage with Online Trading so as not to be mistaken in choosing trading that is forbidden in Islam.
